5th Meeting in

The fifth project meeting took place in Italy from 3rd to 8th march 2014
15 teachers and principals and 22 students from Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Poland, Spain and Turkey participated in the meeting in Assisi.
The meeting has started with the welcoming speech from our principal and with all groups’ presentations . The Italian team also presented Italy, Umbria and the national school system . The participants have met the Mayor of the town and have visited the most interesting monuments and places in Assisi. The meeting has represented another step in our travel to traditions . The common items for presentations were food and culinary traditions . That’s why , thank to the peculiarity of our school , all the participants have been involved in cooking laboratory activities preparing dishes belonging to their traditions. The dishes have been exhibited and tasted of course …..the international meal has been a melting pot of flavours and tastes . Two entire days, Wednesday and Friday, have been devoted to excursions . The first one in Umbria dedicated to the visit of famous chocolate factory Perugina in Perugia and of the “Gaite” , exhibition of the ancient crafts market in Bevagna. The second one was the visit of marvellous Rome , our capital city . Our guests have enjoyed a sightseeing tour and we have tried to show them some of the most interesting and important places in the eternal city. On Thursday evening the medieval farewell dinner has taken place in a special location , the “Sala delle volte”; medieval dishes have been tasted , medieval entertainments have accompanied the event . It was also the time to say officially thank you to the participants and all the people involved in preparing the activities .
Now we are looking forward for the sixth and last project meeting that will take place in Calatayud, Spain. There ,we will meet once again our partners, let’s say , our friends.

I can still feel Rome under my feet. The last remainings of Italian dust went down a pipe with shower water last Saturday night. My mind was a hurricane of thoughts, my heart a storm of feelings, my eyes an ocean of tears. I was happy to see my family again, but I felt terrible sad to leave my other Comenius family behind.
This meeting has been the meeting of taste, the meeting of History. A meeting of maturity in the particular life of our project. Every activity was experienced 100% due to perfect timing.
The Italian Comenius team was perfect. Every detail was taken into account. I observed Moris leading his pupils at the cafeteria, bar and lunch room. He controlled everything and corrected every mistake with energy, sensibility and care. The pupils were serving us and he wanted everything to be perfect. Thank you Noris for you magnificent work. Thank you for your details too...Thank you for coordinating such a great group of work.
Luigina, with her extraordinary sense of humour and her everlasting smile, was a perfect host. Always at the hotel gate looking for us and guiding us together with Miranda everywhere. Thank you for your help, for you work and big effort in translating every speech.
Giovanna, the great Italian cook. My God!!! I have never eaten such a wonderful Italian food in my life. Thank you for your huge effort in cooking everything you offered. I am sure your students will be successful if they follow your instructions.
Miranda, I have no words to thank your effort in transmitting every piece of information. Your special care and touch in every detail. I could see in your shiny eyes the emotion of showing your country from your soul. I could feel how you opend your heart and gave us everything you could to make us feel at home. Thank you because this meeting was a real presents for us.
I would like to thank, also, Bianca. She is the principal of your school and she leads fantastic professionals like you all. I noticed she was really proud of you and satisfied with the meeting results. She also was really kind with us all.
I don´t want to forget your students. They worked so hard that they did not seem real students. They were pros to me. I saw some of their faces after working for us. Some of them were really tired, but they did not stopped smiling and came kindly to the visits with us. Please, show my gratitude to them, because they deserve all our respect and recognition.
All the visits were really interesting. We were amazed by Giotto´s paintings, the beauty of Assisi, The Gaite Market, the flavour of the Perugina chocolates, the majesty of Rome...
Dear Italian Comenius team, dear friends Giovanna, Luigina, Miranda and Noris, thank you again for this meeting that will remain in our hearts forever.
