Colegio de las Hermanas de la Caridad de Santa Ana
Our school is placed in Calatayud ( Zaragoza) in the region of Aragón . Calatayud is a small town. 22.500 inhabitants in a low populated area. Our population reaches 27.000 inhabitants if we take into account foreign people that has not been registered at the Town Hall. Almost one third of our new pupils come from Romania , North Africa or South America. Our school provide these children with free books and food if their families can´t afford it.
We observe there is a need of opening our minds to new incomers, because Spain is not used to receiving so many people from other cultures so suddenly. That makes it essential for us to take part in a Comenius project, that will allow our teachers and students perceive other teachers and pupils from all over Europe, that share similar culture, hobbies, ways of living, etc. But also have differences that make us more complete when sharing and living them.
Our school has got 700 pupils and 43 teachers and the range of ages is from 3 to 16 years old.
